DESCRIPTION: Length up to 6mm. A small weevil that has a powdery look to the entire surface and one that sports ashy grey legs, a light and dark brown striped elytra, a thicker striped pronotum and a chocolate brown head with greyish sides. The femur is thick set, the antennae dark and clubbed. The eye is large and black. DISTRIBUTION: Widely distributed throughout the UK but localised, becoming scarcer in Scotland. HABITAT: In rough grassland especially near the coast. Also frequents dune systems. PERIOD: April to July.
